The Dubai Air Show 2023, held Nov. 13–17, was a resounding success, with both a variety of rotary-wing crewed and uncrewed platforms on static and flying display, and the appearance of an advanced air mobility (AAM) pavilion.
After a heady and hectic summer (see “eVTOL Leaders Continue to Partner for Growth,” Vertiflite, Sept/Oct 2023), the leading developers of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft settled into a familiar rhythm as each sought to demonstrate progress towards launching commercial operations.
Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) took a prominent role at the biannual Paris Air Show with a dedicated hall to display electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and a three-day Paris Air Mobility event hosted by Aviation Week.
Since the last issue of Vertiflite magazine, several of the leading developers of electric VTOL (eVTOL) aircraft have revealed important milestones in their efforts to test, certify and produce the latest generation of sustainable commercial aircraft for advanced air mobility (AAM) applications.
