The Vertical Flight Society has been busy providing regular webinars and symposiums to help keep our members in the know and to keep advancing vertical flight. Links to past and future webinars are available at www.vtol.org/webinars
The CAFE Foundation, with support from the Vertical Flight Society, held its 14th annual Electric Aircraft Symposium (EAS) on July
On March 9, a week before the 2nd VFS “Workshop on Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) Infrastructure for Urban Air Mobility (UAM)” was to kick off at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, the state governor declared a state of emergency and the university closed its campus.
At the 7th Annual Electric VTOL Symposium in January 2020, the Vertical Flight Society (VFS) helped launch the eVTOL Writers Group. In addition to other activities, VFS has supported the group with a series of online interviews with leading eVTOL developers. The following interviews are available to the public.
VFS Executive Director Mike Hirschberg presented a webinar, "The Electric VTOL Revolution," for the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) on April 14, 2020. See the ACMA webinar notice.
The Vertical Flight Society recently added several eVTOL video interviews to its YouTube Channel:
The opening of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) Center for Mobility with Vertical Lift (MOVE) was held on Oct. 2-3, 2018, at the university, located in Troy, New York: http://move.rpi.edu
Fueled by explosive growth in the emergent field of electric VTOL aircraft, as well as the U.S. DoD’s interest in high-speed VTOL aircraft, vertical lift technology is undergoing a major renaissance and is at one of the most exciting points in its development history.
The CAFE Foundation's 12th Annual Electric Aircraft Symposium (EAS) was held on the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh campus on July 21-22 prior to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2018. The theme was "The Future of Flight: Electric Aviation Technologies and Opportunities."
