Honeywell Builds $10B AAM Business
Honeywell reported on Nov. 13 that its AAM business unit had secured contracts amounting to more than $10B. The figure is based on the lifetime value of the awards secured by Honeywell from companies developing eVTOL aircraft and on an “internal forecast of the number of AAM vehicles” each company is expected to build, according to a Honeywell press release. Honeywell established a business unit devoted to uncrewed aircraft and urban air mobility in June 2020 and has since fielded a portfolio of avionics and flight systems for the AAM market (see “Honeywell Goes ‘All In’ on Urban Air Mobility,” Vertiflite, Jan/Feb 2020). The company has partnered with several of the leading eVTOL aircraft developers, including Archer Aviation, Lilium, Supernal and Vertical Aerospace.
