LIFT Announces HEXA 2
On Aug. 1, Austin, Texas-based LIFT Aircraft revealed that it developed a second generation of its HEXA ultralight eVTOL aircraft. The HEXA 2 features larger and more powerful propellers with a 33% increase in maximum thrust, 20% increase in flight time and a 15–25% reduction in noise; more powerful electronic speed controllers (ESCs); improved flight control computers; and upgrades to the avionics. In addition, LIFT has developed an optional extended-range version. HEXA 2 ER, expected next year, will have twice the flight time — up to 30 minutes.
LIFT says that “HEXA was the first eVTOL aircraft to enter production and pay-per-flight operations in the United States.” To date, the company has produced 16 aircraft and launched a 25-city US tour earlier this year. HEXA 2 flights can be booked in Austin, beginning in September.
