LYTE Selects H3 Dynamics for SkyBus
LYTE Aviation selected H3 Dynamics to provide the hydrogenelectric fuel cell propulsion system for its SkyBus LA-44 eVTOL aircraft (shown), LYTE announced on July 25. LYTE Aviation will also support the installation of self-contained electrolyzer systems produced by H3 Dynamics at its airport destinations. LYTE selected the Toulouse, France-based H3 Dynamics for its experience in hydrogen technologies in the aerospace sector, as well as its recent work on the Airbus A330 auxiliary power unit (APU) fuel cell, the London-based eVTOL developer said in a press release. The LA-44 SkyBus is a 40-seat passenger hybridelectric VTOL aircraft designed to offer a sustainable platform for mass-transit applications, according to the World eVTOL Aircraft Directory. A cargo variant, the SkyTruck LA-44C, is also under development, as well a 19-seater version business jet, the X-Prime version. The company said it has secured 23 pre-orders worth €920M ($1B).
