Manta Secures Avinord Order

Manta Aircraft announced on May 3 that it has secured a provisional order for up to 15 hybrid-electric aircraft from Avinord, an Italian firm specializing in air medical flights. The two companies will explore developing a medical configuration for the Manta Aircraft ANN, a hybrid-electric vertical short takeoff and landing aircraft. Milan-based Avinord, which has invested an unspecified amount in Manta Aircraft, could begin operating the modified ANN aircraft as early as 2026. Manta is currently working on a full-scale pre-production version of the ANN, which it expects to submit for certification in 2023, according to the VFS World eVTOL Aircraft Directory.
