TCab Begins Flight Tests

On Aug. 15, TCab Tech revealed that it had begun testing a skeleton prototype of its E20 eVTOL aircraft. In a video on YouTube, the Shanghai, China-based company showed the skeleton demonstrator taking off and hovering at its test site at Zhejiang Hengdian Airport. The testbed (shown) is said to match the takeoff weight, power arrangement and system equipment of its E20 design. As of mid-August, the company had conducted 320 takeoffs with the 4,400-lb (2-metricton) skeleton prototype, according to a TCab press release. A particular focus of the tests was to evaluate the aircraft’s power system and flight control. The E20 will be powered by Safran EngineUs 100 motors.
