UAE Partners with Odys Aviation

On May 3, Odys Aviation announced that it had received an investment by Knighthood Global. James Hogan, the founder and chairman of the United Arab Emirates-based consultancy firm, will join the advisory board of Odys. On May 26, the UAE Ministry of Economy announced that Odys Aviation intends to open a regional headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The Long Beach, California-based eVTOL developer joined the UAE’s NextGen FDI program, which is designed to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) in the country. Odys intends to build an assembly-and-maintenance plant for its hybrid-electric aircraft in UAE, a move that will result in the creation of 2,000 direct and indirect jobs, according to a Ministry press release. Odys is developing a nine-passenger, hybrid-electric, blownwing VTOL aircraft for regional travel, according to the VFS World eVTOL Aircraft Directory.
