USAF Flies the HEXA

The US Air Force announced on July 14 that it has conducted the first test flight of LIFT Aircraft’s HEXA at Duke Field, north of Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. An uncrewed HEXA 09, one of two aircraft at the base, flew for 10 minutes and reached a height of 50 ft (15 m). The test was carried out by the Air Force’s 413th Flight Test Squadron and Agility Prime, an AFWERX program, and is part of a broader effort to explore the potential military applications of electric aircraft. The HEXA 05 flew at Eglin Air Force Base itself in April.
