Founded in 2024 by CEO Shivanshu Tank, the company is in the business of designing and manufacturing passenger electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for emergency medical services in the advanced air mobility (AAM) industry. The company also makes fixed-wing uncrewed air vehicles (UAVs). The company wants to revolutionize aerial emergency medical service for both urban and rural areas by making rescuing people safer and more economical than using helicopters.
AYUDX2 passenger emergency medical service eVTOL aircraft (concept design)
The AYUDX2 is a crewed emergency medical service eVTOL concept design aircraft. The aircraft holds one pilot, one patient, one doctor, one paramedic and one family member. The aircraft uses fly-by-wire technology for piloting. The aircraft has aeronautic systems to keep the aircraft stable in windy conditions.
The estimated cruise speed of the aircraft is 250 km/h (155 mph), has an expected range of 150 km (93 miles), has a projected flight time of 45–60 minutes and has calculated maximum altitude of 1,000 m (3,280 ft). The aircraft has 12 propellers, 12 electric motors and is powered by battery packs. The aircraft has six tilt-propellers and six VTOL-only propellers. The projected empty weight of the aircraft is 1,550 kg (3,417 lb), a maximum payload weight of 350 kg (772 lb) and a maximum takeoff weight of 1,900 kg (4,189 lb). There is one high main wing, has one inverted v-tail and has fixed tricycle wheeled landing gear. The fuselage is made from carbon fiber composite to give the aircraft a high strength to low weight ratio.
Specifications:
- Aircraft type: Passenger emergency medical service eVTOL aircraft (concept design)
- Piloting: 1 pilot with fly-by-wire controls and has avionics to keep the aircraft stable in windy conditions
- Capacity: 1 patient, 1 doctor, 1 paramedic, 1 family member (or attendant) and medical equipment. When including the pilot, the aircraft holds 5 people).
- Cruise speed: 250 km/h (155 mph)
- Range: 150 km (93 miles)
- Flight time: 45–60 minutes
- Maximum altitude: 1,000 m (3,280 ft)
- Empty weight: 1,550 kg (3,417 lb)
- Maximum payload weight: 350 kg (772 lb)
- Maximum takeoff weight: 1,900 kg (4,189 lb)
- Propellers: 12 propellers (6 tilt-propellers, 6 VTOL-only propellers)
- Electric motors: 12 electric motors
- Power source: Battery packs
- Fuselage: Carbon fiber composite
- Windows: Large front and side windows
- Wings: 1 high main wing
- Tail: 1 inverted v-tail
- Landing gear: Fixed tricycle wheeled landing gear
- Safety features: Distributed Electric Propulsion (DEP) uses multiple propellers or electric ducted fans, each powered by electric motors, to increase safety through redundancy. If one or more components fail, the remaining ones can still ensure a safe landing. There are also redundancies of critical components in the sub-systems of the aircraft providing safety through redundancy. Having multiple redundant systems on any aircraft decreases having any single point of failure.
