NAATS Aviation Pvt Ltd was founded on April 17, 2023 in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India. The company is in the business of making passenger electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for advanced air mobility. The company has two current aircraft designs, a multicopter aircraft and a winged eVTOL aircraft. The company has already made a multicopter prototype and has successfully flown the aircraft.

ProMobility high-speed long-range passenger eVTOL concept design aircraft
THe ProMobility is a high-speed long-range five passenger eVTOL winged concept design aircraft. The aircraft has a futuristic look with floor to ceiling windows providing excellent views for the pilot and passengers. It is unknown if the aircraft will be piloted, remotely controlled, flown autonomously or has the option for all three piloting options. The aircraft is designed for long-range travel and is expected to fly almost half way across the longest distances in India, whether traveling east and west or north and south on the continent. To travel the longest routes over India would take at least two charges of the batteries and possibly three charges.

The cruise speed of the multicopter is 400 km/h (249 mph) and has a range of 1,500 km (932 m). The aircraft's power source is batteries. The aircraft has five propellers and five electric motors. There are four VTOL-only propellers on booms which are parallel to the fuselage. The aircraft has one high main wing and has a boom mounted inverted V-tail. The fuselage is made from carbon fiber composite material for a high-strength and low weight ratio. The aircraft has fixed quadricycle strut landing gear.

Future plans
The company is designing a vertiport structure with a passenger terminal, landing pads and hangar areas to make sure there will be the infrastructure needed for advanced air mobility to take place in metropolitan areas. The company foersees the aircraft to be used for air taxi service, VIP transportation and emergency medical service.

  • Tail: 1 boom mounted inverted V-tail
  • Landing gear: Fixed quadricycle strut landing gear
  • Safety features: Distributed Electric Propulsion (DEP) means having multiple propellers (or electric ducted fans) and multiple electric motors on an aircraft so if one or more propellers (or electric ducted fans) or some electric motors fail, the other working propellers (or electric ducted fans) and electric motors can safely land the aircraft. DEP provides safety through redundancy for passengers or cargo. There are also redundancies of critical components in the sub-systems of the aircraft providing safety through redundancy. Having multiple redundant systems on any aircraft decreases having any single point of failure.
